Our diverse staff has came to us from all over the world. Some have served their country in the United States military, others possess college and advanced degrees, and others came to the LCSO from other law enforcement agencies because of the numerous opportunities we offer. Minimum Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Applicants cannot have been convicted of a felony.
- Applicants cannot have been convicted of any alcohol related driving offense within the past five years.
- Applicants cannot have been Dishonorably Discharged from the United States Military.
- Applicants cannot have tattoos on their face, neck, or hands except for a wedding band tattoo.
Hiring Process
The background/selection process for a position with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office takes approximately four to six months after the submission of the application.

Ride-a-long/jail tour/court tour
Interview with the Sheriff
