Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Applicants cannot have been convicted of a felony.
  • Applicants cannot have been convicted of any alcohol related driving offense within the past five years.
  • Applicants cannot have been Dishonorably Discharged from the United States Military.
  • Applicants cannot have tattoos on their face, neck, or hands except for a wedding band tattoo.

Hiring Process

The background/selection process for a position with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office takes approximately four to six months after the submission of the application.

Ride-a-long/jail tour/court tour

Interview with the Sheriff
